Your Library Podcast: the Library Reopens: S3E2

In this episode of Your Library Podcast, we are joined by Daisy Porter-Reynolds, Chief Public Services Officer at the Library for a discussion of how services have changed due to COVID-19 and our stages of re-opening. We hear about quarantining library materials, free face masks, browsing and computer time limits, and much more, including voting assistance services at the Library.

Up next, we have a very special interview with the Vance Family, who left a card for Kingshighway Library staff while we were closed due to COVID. They chat with Megan, Youth Services Provider at Kingshighway, about how the Library and its staff are an important part of their community.

Tonnya, the Manager of Barr Branch and Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Change Team shares information about the important work ahead for our DEI team, including examining internal policies and procedures and the services we provide as they relate to DEI. She discusses the Library’s Black Lives Matter video and what is available on our new Diverse & Inclusive Resources page.

Finally, co-hosts Mary Meyer and Honna Veerkamp discuss new resources available on the Library’s website, including Brainfuse HelpNow for homework assistance, Brainfuse JobNow for job seekers, and our updated Creative Experience webpage
