Support Your Library
Our children need your help today!
When it comes to early childhood literacy, too many children in our community fall behind their more fortunate peers through no fault of their own. In response, St. Louis Public Library launched Born to Read, an early childhood literacy initiative serving families of children birth to age eight.
- Storytimes at branches and in the community
- Free books for infants through the Born to Read Bag program at local hospitals and health clinics
- Free Summer Camps and reading programs
- Outreach Team visiting over 50 childcare locations each month

“Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve and contribute to improving our quality of life. Libraries change lives for the better.” ― Sidney Sheldon
Your St. Louis Public Library responds to the needs of St. Louisans by meeting people where they are. Everyone who enters one of the 17 locations in neighborhoods throughout the City of St. Louis is on equal footing.
Tax funding that supports the St. Louis Public Library makes our Library good. The support of civic-minded individuals, corporations and foundations who recognize the need for additional private funding makes our library GREAT.
Thanks to private funding from people like you, our St. Louis Public Library is able to offer innovative programming that enriches the lives of the 2+ million people who visit, live and work in the City of St. Louis each year.
