St. Louis Summer Hero Quest

The Library is partnering with The Magic House and St. Louis County Library to host Hero Quest exhibit experiences in the summer of 2026.

Hero Quest brings to life historical heroes from the popular children’s book series "Ordinary People Change the World" by award-winning author Brad Meltzer and illustrator Chris Eliopoulos in life-size books created by The Magic House.

The book series was created to provide children with positive role models they can emulate. Through hands-on activities, children will explore the traits that made real-life heroes extraordinary and learn how they themselves can make a difference in the world.

Beginning Saturday, May 30, you can experience Hero Quest at these SLPL locations during normal library hours. The exhibit will run until October.

A Hero Quest passport with details about the scavenger hunt will be available at The Magic House, and all participating St. Louis Public Library and St. Louis County Library locations, and online through the Hero Quest website.

By visiting libraries throughout the region, families who find at least six of the 15 diverse heroes featured in the quest will receive a free "Ordinary People Change the World" book at the participating library branches.
