The City of St. Louis is opening a Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) to serve as a central space for tornado-affected residents to connect with agencies offering guidance, resources, and assistance related to recovery and long-term support.

Insurance consumer specialists from the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance will assist residents with understanding their insurance policies and navigating the claim process.

Shelter & Immediate Needs
- Missouri State ID Access Coalition: Helps individuals navigate the process of obtaining replacement state-issued photo IDs and critical supporting documents such as birth certificates. - United Way - Greater St. Louis: Call 211 to speak with a live, trained service professional who can help you find resources. You can also fill out a Disaster Intake Form.

- The Salvation Army - Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area: Offers food, shelter, spiritual care, and long-term recovery services.
- Catholic Charities of St. Louis: Provides vital support during natural disasters. This includes assistance through Multi-Agency Resource Centers (MARCs) offering insurance information, legal services, food stamp replacement, and health and wellness services. Fill out their intake form to connect with food, housing, and other assistance.

Saint Louis Crisis Nursery: Offers emergency care for children and support for families during crises, including natural disasters.
- 24-hour Helpline: 314-768-3201
- Guardian Angel Settlement Association: Provides a client-choice food pantry, rental and utility assistance, and other support services to families in need.
- SNAP recipients who lost power during the storm and had their food spoil as a result can request replacement SNAP benefits to purchase new food. They have until June 16 to make the request.
- Legal Services of Eastern Missouri is encouraging anyone eligible to fill out this request form through the MO Department of Social Services as soon as possible.

Resource Center for SLPS District Families:Temporary resource center for district families impacted by the May 16th tornado. The center will serve as a centralized hub for families to receive essential items and also work with case managers to address their current needs.

Housing & Home Repair
- Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA): Coordinates disaster recovery programs, including low-interest loans, temporary housing assistance, and crisis counseling.
- U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA): Provides low-interest disaster loans to homeowners, renters, and businesses for repair or replacement of real estate, personal property, and more.
- Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC): Works with local Community Action Agencies to provide relief assistance for severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding in Missouri.
- Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)* Individual Assistance: FEMA provides financial and direct services to eligible individuals and households affected by disasters. Assistance includes housing, medical, transportation, and personal property aid.
- FEMA* Individual Assistance Quick Reference Guide for Self-Employed Applicants: If you are self-employed, you may be eligible for FEMA disaster assistance to help you replace disaster-damaged essential tools, supplies, and equipment.
- FEMA* Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) Locator: Visit these accessible facilities and mobile offices to learn more about FEMA and other disaster assistance programs or to ask questions about your case. DRCs are set up in convenient areas after a disaster. Please note, we currently do not have in the St. Louis area.

FEMA* Process of Public Assistance Grants: When an area receives the Presidential Disaster Declaration its state, tribal, territorial, local governments, and certain types of non-profits may be eligible to apply for Public Assistance.
*For the events on May 16, FEMA resources will become available if a Presidential Disaster Declaration is issued. Governor Kehoe requested federal disaster aid and FEMA teams have been dispatched to St. Louis to assess the damage.
