St. Louis Public Library will host the Missouri's Main Street: 100 Years on Route 66, a traveling exhibit, July 1 - 31 at Central Library, 1301 Olive Street. The exhibit is free and open to the public during normal library hours.
Explore this traveling exhibit showcasing the people and places in Missouri that helped make Route 66 a national icon and a prism through which to understand the history and myths of both Missouri and the United States.
The exhibit features natural wonders, homegrown architecture, roadside kitsch, and the ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit of Missouri’s citizens. It also highlights the hardship and inequality experienced along the highway.
