Every year in the United States, we celebrate and acknowledge the cultural impact and influence of Hispanic culture in our country from September 15 to October 15. Our country is a melting pot of cultures, and it shows when we look at our movies, music, and food.
This year Saint Louis Public Library will have a variety of events, workshops, and activities to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! To kick off the fiesta, all month long customers can participate in a digital scavenger hunt. Here’s how it works:
- Download the list here or pick up a printed copy of the list at any SLPL location.
- Go through the list at your own pace and in whatever order you chose! As you complete each of the 8 items, take a picture of (or with) the item.
- Once you have your 8 pictures of completed items, send them to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject “Digital Scavenger Hunt.” We will verify that your answers to the scavenger hunt are correct and contact you to pick up your prize!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I have to come into the library to participate in the scavenger hunt?
Nope! The best part about a digital scavenger hunt is that you can participate from home. Use our Stream and Download apps (Freegal, Hoopla, Overdrive) and check our Event Calendar for virtual programming.
What if I am having trouble submitting my images or taking photos?
Visit Barr or Central Creative Experience, or call us at 314-241-2288. We’d be happy to help!
Do I have to be in the photo?
There is no requirement to have your face or anyone else’s in the photo. The purpose of photographing each item on the list is to show you’ve completed all of them.
What are the prizes?
Everyone who completes the hunt will receive a commemorative trophy. The first ten to finish will receive a coupon for a free large format, 3D, or laser cut project in Creative Experience.
How do I get my prize?
Pick up your prize in Creative Experience @ Barr or Creative Experience @ Central. Curbside pick-up is also available.
Can we do the scavenger hunt in groups or pairs?
Yes! However, there is only one prize per submission. If you would like to complete the list in a group or pair, make sure everyone takes a picture and submits it separately. The coupon is only good for one free print.
What other Hispanic Heritage Month events are there?
