| Scope and Content: | The collection contains publications from the International Woman Suffrage Alliance and the Inter-American Commission of Women. The Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM) was established in 1928 as the first inter-governmental agency to ensure recognition of women's human rights. The International Woman Suffrage Alliance (IWSA), now The International Alliance of Women (IAW), was headquartered in London. This organization has been a prominent international women's suffrage organization throughout its history. The IAW focuses on promoting women's human rights around the world, particularly the empowerment of women and gender equality. |
