PROM @ SLPL

PROM @ SLPL celebrates the unique cultural relationship St. Louis has to the special four-year shared experience we all call “high school.” PROM @ SLPL consists of two components - a prom event and an exhibit at Central Library in 2023.

The “PROM Magazine: Where did you go to high school?” exhibit highlights St. Louis Public Library’s extensive collection of PROM Magazine.

Published from 1947-1973, PROM Magazine was produced “exclusively for the youth of Greater St. Louis” and represented all the high schools – public and private – of the area.

Join us for fun and friends at PROM!

Grab your high school besties, your powder blue tuxes and taffeta dresses and hit the dance floor at Central Library.

Enjoy drinks, St. Louis-themed food, and dancing with our guest emcee, the iconic Johnny Rabbitt!

Proceeds from the event will support SLPL’s new exhibit “PROM Magazine: Where did you go to high school?”

•Guest will enjoy:

•  Drinks (Beer, wine, spiked punch, soda)

•  St. Louis-themed snacks (Toasted Ravs, Pork steak sliders with Maul’s BBQ sauce, St. Louis-style pizza, veggies and Mayfair dressing, gooey butter cookies - and TUMS!)

•  Dancing to tunes from past decades

• Recreating your Prom memories with an official Prom photo from the evening
