Machacek Library will be closed September 6-20!
St. Louis Public Library is making important improvements to Machacek Library, including necessary building repairs, construction of a new permanent auditorium wall, and installation of new high-efficiency lighting throughout the building.
In order to begin this work, Machacek will be closed Sunday, September 6 through Sunday, September 20. During the closure, the book drop will also be unavailable, so please return materials to other library locations. Please note: Closure dates are subject to change based on the progress of the project.
While Machacek is closed, we encourage you to visit our Buder, Marketplace, or Kingshighway libraries, all of which are less than three miles from Machacek.
If you regularly pick up your Holds at Machacek, you can choose to switch your pick up location while Machacek is closed by following the steps outlined below. NOTE: If you do not change your pick-up location by Wednesday, September 2, your holds will be sent to Buder Library.
How to Switch Your Hold Location:
- Log in to My SLPL - City using your library barcode and password.
- Click on your name on the top right of the screen and select "On Hold."
- To the right of each title you have on hold, it says "Pick up at SLPL Machacek," with a downward facing arrow. Click the arrow to change your pick up location.
