Scope and Content: The Jefferson Barracks Hub, also known as the HUB, was published by the U.S. Army Reserves and was an “Official publication of the Air Corps Replacement Training Center, Jefferson Barracks, Mo.” The collection houses an incomplete run of volumes 1 through 4 from Dec. 12, 1941 to April 30, 1944 (v. 1, no. 36-v. 4, no. 18). Volume 4 is complete and volume 3 is missing four issues.

Selwyn Pepper was the editor for the Jefferson Barracks Hub in 1941 and 1942 while serving in the U. S. Armed Forces as a sergeant. Pepper later became a St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter and then editor. The Media Archives contains a small amount of Pepper’s papers as well as an oral history recording. The majority of Peppers papers are held at The State Historical Society of Missouri.
