The collection consists of a scrapbook, photos, and advertising print materials including proofs from Gardner Advertising.
Edna Carroll was a native of Webster Groves. She attended Webster College for two years and later graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism. During her career, she worked as a reporter for the Louisville CourierJournal and the Chicago Tribune. In St. Louis, Carroll worked for the Associated Press and then as a copywriter at Gardner Advertising.
Carroll was a member of the Women’s Advertising Club of St. Louis and very active in the annual Gridiron event. She was a member of the Press Club of Metropolitan St. Louis. Soon after the Media Archives opened at SLPL, Carroll volunteered to help process materials and to assist with processing the Gardner Advertising Collection. |
