Summer Challenge FAQ

 

For New Account Creators

  1. Select ‘Register an Individual or Family’
  2. Select either ‘I am registering myself’ or ‘I am an adult registering a child’
  3. Enter your information in the required fields and select “Next”
  4. Kids and teens will be automatically enrolled in the Summer Challenge program. Adults 18 years and older will be registered for the Give Back to Reading challenge.
  5. You will then be prompted to add additional children to the account if applicable.
If You Have an Existing Account
  1. Select ‘Sign In’ button 
  2. Enter Email or Username and password
  3. A pop-up window will prompt you to update your information if you have not logged in since last summer
  1. Update account information including child/reader’s age and grade
  2. Kids and teens will be automatically enrolled in the Summer Challenge program. Adults 18 years and older will be registered for the Give Back to Reading challenge 

Congratulations on earning your first badge! Now the adventure begins!

How do you complete the Summer Challenge?

Earn 50 points to complete the Summer Challenge and get prizes! Each book read is worth 10 points and each activity is worth 5 points. When you finish a book or activity, make sure to log them on your account. Collect badges as you progress and when you reach 50 points you’ll receive the completion badge with instructions on how to pick up your prizes. But don’t stop there! Continue reading or completing activities to collect more badges. 

How do I log my reading or activities using my phone?

Download the “Beanstack Tracker” app, select St. Louis Public Library, and log into your account. Then you can log books in one swipe! Flip your book over and use your phone to scan the barcode on the back. Tracking activities is as  easy as checking off the ones you’ve completed. 

Prefer to use your computer to log your reading? No problem. You can always enter your reading through your Beanstack account online, too:

How do I log books on the website?

  1. Log into account and select reader
  2. Select the green ‘Log Reading and Activities’ button on the top header, and select the reader (if multiple on account) and click on the purple ‘Books’ box
  3. Enter the title of the book read (author is optional) and click ‘Log’

How do I log activities? 

  1. Log into account and select reader
  2. Select the green ‘Log Reading and Activities’ button on the top header, and  select the reader (if multiple on account) and click on the green ‘Activities’ box
  3. Find the activity you completed and respond to the prompt to tell us how you completed the activity

What are the prizes?

When kids and teens complete the Summer Challenge they will receive (while supplies last)

  1. A free book
  2. Earbuds (teens only)
