Phase Box Designer/Creator

Job Summary: Do you enjoy working with your hands and creating three-dimensional objects? Are you drawn to old books and items? Then this may be the volunteer opportunity for you. Persons filling this position would work with Special Collections and Rare Books and Manuscripts Staff.  Phase Boxes are protective enclosures assembled to house and protect items too delicate for rebinding.  Persons filling this position will learn the skills required to create these enclosures.

Special Skills Needed:  Ability to measure and do simple calculation. Ability to learn and retain information and execute construction techniques taught by staff.  

Physical Requirements: An ability to stand for extended periods and the dexterity required to cut, glue, and assemble material into boxes.

Technology Requirements: Some knowledge of basic technology. Ability to get a receive email and manage an online account.
