Total Solar Eclipse

On August 21, the continental United States will witness the first solar eclipse since 1979. The last total eclipse in St. Louis was in 1442!

The eclipse should be an amazing spectacle and an important scientific event. You can find information and resources about this event here.

St. Louis Public Library will hold viewing events at two of our locations: Central Library and Buder Library.

Remember, it is never safe to look at the sun without proper eye protection. The only safe way to view a partial or annular eclipse is with eclipse glasses.
