Every year throughout the City of St Louis, nearly 30,000 children and teens participate in literacy and after-school programs offered at St. Louis Public Library. This crucial programming is funded by the St. Louis Public Library Foundation and includes: Homework Helpers, Summer Camps, Read it Forward, Reading Pays and Born to Read.
“Born to Read is a new comprehensive early childhood initiative serving the most vulnerable in our community, children birth to age eight,” said Liz Reeves, director of the St. Louis Public Library Foundation.
Comic-Con is one of the toughest tickets on the planet to obtain and Lion Forge Comics owner David Steward donated two tickets to Comic-Con 2018 in San Diego, including hotel accommodations for two nights.
“As a comics publisher, Lion Forge knows that comics and graphic novels are a continuously growing part of libraries,” Said Steward. “We appreciate that the St. Louis Public Library is supportive of the medium as it’s a gateway to greater literacy and a love of reading. We’re proud to support the St. Louis Public Library Foundation in their pursuit to create a greater St. Louis community through outreach.”
