Need a laptop to use while at your St. Louis Public Library Branch? You’re in luck! SLPL now offers Chromebook laptops for in-Library use to all patrons, age 10 years and older with a valid, unrestricted Library card.

Using your Library card, you can check out a Chromebook while visiting your local Branch.

Use the laptop to:

  • Update social media accounts
  • Check and send email
  • Access SLPL’s digital content
  • Read the news
  • Apply for jobs
  • Perform research
  • Video chat with Skype
  • And more!

Earbuds are available for purchase at the desk or bring your own.

Chromebooks cannot be removed from the Library building. Any attempt to remove the device will render it useless and borrowers must returned the device 60 minutes prior to the building closing.

In addition, a borrower accepts financial responsibility for a lost, stolen or damaged device. Failure to return the Chromebook will result in a $150 fee, a report of theft to the appropriate law enforcement agency and a collections service notified.

Ask a SLPL staff member for more information on in-Library use.
