SLPL Foundation Paints the Town Technicolor with Fall Fundraiser

The St. Louis Public Library’s (SLPL) biennial fundraiser, Stranger Than Fiction, returns in 2019 with a colorful celebration at Central Library on Saturday, November 16 from 7:30-10:30 p.m.

Tickets for Stranger Than Fiction: St. Louis in Technicolor are $200 each and on sale now here or by calling 314-539-0359. Friends of the St. Louis Public Library can purchase tickets at a discounted rate of $150 each. A special group rate of $1,000 is available for groups of 10. Tickets include food, drinks, valet, coat check and literary entertainment.

This vibrant cocktail party is held every other year to raise funds for SLPL. This year, proceeds will support Born to Read, SLPL’s early childhood literacy initiative serving families with children birth to age 8. Born to Read includes programs like free storytimes and summer camps and services like Born to Read bags for newborns. SLPL’s Early Childhood Outreach Team, Storytime Theater and Play Date Theater are also supported through SLPL’s Born to Read initiative.

“We are thrilled to raise funds for early childhood literacy through this year’s Stranger Than Fiction gala,” said Veronica Theodoro, event co-chair and Editor-in-Chief of Design STL. “This event always draws a colorful crowd of library supporters and we can’t wait to welcome new guests to the magnificent Central Library.”
