St. Louis Public Library and Operation Food Search are partnering together this summer to provide free meals to area children.
Together, SLPL and OFS will provide meals to children 18 years old and under at six different SLPL locations, Monday through Friday, through August.
The free summer meal schedule is:
• 11:30-11:50 a.m. at Carpenter Library
• 12:10-12:30 p.m. at Carondelet Library
• 1-2 p.m. at Central Library
• 1:10-1:30 p.m. Divoll Library
• 4:10-4:30 p.m. Kingshighway Library
• 5:10-5:30 p.m. Julia Davis Library
According to Operation Food Search, one in four children in the St. Louis bi-state area goes to bed each night hungry. Many of those kids receive their only full, daily meal from school. That is why the summer months are crucial in helping to end childhood hunger.
SLPL’s mission is to provide learning resources and information services that support and improve individual, family and community life through a variety of services, programs, and initiatives. Partnering with OFS is one way the Library continues its commitment to this mission.
