On this episode of Your Library Podcast, we and learn about St. Louis Public Library's original children's theater series, Storytime Theater, which "jumps the story off the page," as Community Engagement Manager, Aarya Locker tells us. Your Library Podcast visited Storytime Theater at Carondelet Library in October and sat in on their production of A Delightfully Gorey Tale for Tots, based on the work of Edward Gorey with a little bit of Shel Silverstein thrown in for good measure. We talked to the actors, Library staff, and children in the audience and learned why Storytime Theater is so special. Look for a new season of plays in early spring at slpl.org.
Did you know that the Library makes it easy for reading clubs to check out multiple copies of the same titles? Librarian Regina Crandall tells us about Book Club in a Bag.
Finally, we talk with Fine Arts and Architecture Senior Subject Specialist, Kris Impastato, and learn about the architectural drawings of the Wainwright Tomb by Louis Sullivan, which are part of The Library's Steedman Collection. We also hear from Dan Fuller of the Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum, where the tomb is located. He spoke at Central Library in September as part of the Sullivan in St. Louis lecture series.
