Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass

Most books about bullying and self discovery play up the cliché that “I'm alone” but this book is different. Piddy doesn't pretend to be on her own. She actively tries to isolate herself to keep others from feeling sorry for her. She knows that overcoming Yaqui Delgado is something she must do on her own. In this book, Piddy forcefully tries to change herself in order to better handle the situation but in the end realizes that that isn't the way to deal with a problem. It's a very interesting read; a must have for any freshman switching schools. Piddy is such an easy character to relate to. She'll help anyone find the inner strength needed to overcome high school's obstacles.
