Welcome to Scribbler, the St. Louis Public Library’s creative writing blog, coming to you from the Entertainment, Literature, and Biography room on the second floor of Central Library.

Merriam-Webster defines “scribbler” as “a minor or insignificant author,” but the term also suggests freedom and looseness, a willingness to experiment and play.

In that spirit, we’ll try to keep you informed about literary events at Central and throughout the city. We’ll post about hidden gems in the stacks and the latest adds to the new books shelf. And keep you current on the STL Scribblers writing group, which will begin meeting at Central Library in April. Stay tuned!
