U.S., Departing Passenger and Crew Lists, 1914-1966

This record collection in Ancestry Library Edition (Ancestry LE) includes passenger and crew departure lists from both ships and aircraft. The lists were recorded on a variety of forms that were turned over to the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Details requested on the forms varied, but may include name of vessel, departure date, ports of departure and destination, shipmaster, full name, age, gender, physical description, military rank and service number (if applicable), occupation, birthplace, citizenship, and residence.

It’s fairly easy to search for military flights transporting dependents and / or civilian workers to American military bases on foreign soil:

SEARCH—AIRLINE: Navy (Exact) 163 hits

In the case of military transports, info provided may also include rank and service number. Some manifests may include visa / passport numbers.

You can also include Departure Location and Event Date as search delimiters (if known).
