This record collection in Ancestry Library Edition (Ancestry LE) consists of card files containing the names, working dates, places of residence, and other information about American craftspeople and artisans. Occupations covered include:

artists / painters
furniture makers / cabinetmakers / turners / joiners
clock and watchmakers
glass workers
graphic artists

Information provided includes:

name of craftsperson/artisan
occupation and working dates
birth and death dates
place of residence
products/objects they made
notes about their professional lives
bibliographical and source references.

Some of the cards don’t include complete information; cards for furniture makers and silversmiths tend to be more complete than those for other occupations.
