Recording Room Updates

Two people working in the Creative Experience Recording Room

The Recording Room in Creative Experience will be getting equipment and software updates this weekend. A PC running Windows 10 will replace the older MacBook computer in the studio, and the new workstation will include two 27” high-definition monitors. This system will continue to offer Pro Tools and Audacity, in the latest versions, and will now feature FL Studio and Adobe Audition as well. Patrons will also be able to work on sound design for video in Adobe Premiere Pro.

With the new Windows operating system, Garage Band and Logic Pro will no longer be available in the Recording Room, but patrons who are used to using these programs will find good alternatives. The library offers great resources for learning new software, including in-depth tutorials on Lynda.com, which are usually only available by paid subscription. Log in here from any computer or tablet with your library card number and PIN for free access to Lynda.com.

The Recording Room will be closed for updates and testing from Friday December 2nd through Monday December 5th and will resume regular hours on Tuesday December 6th.
