Protecting your ideas: Introduction to intellectual property

Join us on Saturday, June 22 for an introduction to the basics of intellectual property: patents, trademarks, copyright, and trade secrets.

In 1870, the St. Louis Public Library was one of the original 22 libraries in the United States to receive patent copies. Today, SLPL is one of two libraries in Missouri to be designated a Patent and Trademark Resource Center by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The program will cover the different types of intellectual property, and the resources SLPL and the USPTO offer for patent and trademark protection.
