National WWI Museum Portrait Photographs presents over 500 portrait photos of soldiers, sailors, nurses, and aid workers who served during the period 1914-1918, courtesy of the National WWI Museum in Kansas City, Missouri. The photos in this collection:

1. Are black & white.
2. Are uniformly good-excellent quality.
3. Are head & shoulders or full-length portraits.
4. Are both American and foreign soldiers and sailors.
5. Include officers, enlisted men, nurses, and aid workers.

Photos are organized alphabetically by surname. You can do a name search of, or you can browse this collection by surname. I recommend browsing by surname—it will take a little longer, but in my experience is more likely to retrieve that photo of interest.
