More Resources for Nonprofit Organizations during COVID-19

Hello again from the remote location of the St. Louis Public Library Grants & Foundation Center. While the Library will be starting to reopen a few of its locations, including Central Library, on a limited basis in early June, there will be reduced public access and services in the initial phase, and the Grants & Foundation Center will NOT be open. We will be able to retrieve books from the GFC's physical collection for people to check out (yay!) but for the time being will not be able to do grant research using Foundation Directory Online at the Library at this time. The good news: for now, at least, our partner Candid continues to offer remote access to FDO Professional for "concierge grant searching" - just fill out this form and we will do some research for you and email you the results. Candid has also provided a remote link for FDO Essential, a somewhat less robust version than FDO Professional, but still useful in looking for potential nonprofit grant funders. Remote access to FDO (both Professional and Essential) is available for a limited time (as with so many things, stay tuned to learn more about when it might end), but we have received very positive feedback from those who have contacted us for grant research - keep those requests coming!

Candid also provides a lot of great information (both COVID and non-COVID related) on its GrantSpace website.  Below are links to a few of their resources intended to help nonprofits dealing with difficulties related to the virus:

We invite you to visit some past GFC blog posts to learn more about online GFC resources that have always been available, but might be particularly useful while our physical locations are closed or once we open on a limited basis and find links to local nonprofit partners (& maybe have a giggle at our video on how to navigate FDO); you can also read about how to (& why you should want to) claim and improve your nonprofit's Guidestar profile

Please feel free to reach out to us by email at with any questions, Wash Your Hands, wear a mask when you go out in public, and be well. We hope to see you again at the Library and the GFC as soon as that is safely possible.
