The Schlafly Branch is honored to host Chuck Ramsay's One Project. These seven large informal portraits, all taken with a single LED spotlight, help form a tapestry that shows the rich patterns that exist within our city's population. Highlighting citizens of all types, these photos show them not as they want to be seen, but as others most often see them. The series is candid, comfortable and intimate. The large scale forces the viewer to consider the details, not just of the subjects, but of their lives. Incredibly textured and rich, one cannot help but contemplate these individuals. Take a step back, and they form a snapshot of St. Louis' diversity. The series of seven portraits will be on display at the Schlafly Branch throughout the month of May.
There will be an artist reception the evening of Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. It's an opportunity to meet the artist as well as many of the featured models.
The Schlafly Branch Library is located at 225 N. Euclid, on the corner of Euclid and Lindell. Monday - Thursday 9 AM - 9PM, Friday 9 - 6, Saturday 9 - 6, Sunday 1 - 5.
