Cut-Out Poetry

Central staff visit teens from Juvenile Detention Center every month to share books and library resources. This visit the teens created their own poems using cut out words from magazines. Here are some amazing results!

Never let the hate get #unfiltered
The only way out is through love
Born black standing tall
Blessed
The life as legends
Can't wait to see the future

Even power girl
Looks strong enough to
Gently face brutal teens

Amazing crazy trash talk
Everything you know
Unravel the mystery

Really wrong moves
Cause hell and back
From survival squad

Make a lovable queen
Never dare chance fear
Bae's ready for
Cheap kicks

In my powerful game
A beautiful mind
Making room for
Crazy random stuff

It's time to shine
His and hers
Sneak around
Skin colors
Bright true love

Nothing comes between family
Like the meat between my teeth
Must share secrets

You don't have to be
A slick raging rebel
