Crew Lists in Ancestry LE

Ancestry Library Edition (Ancestry LE) is certainly well-known as a source of passenger lists, but it also contains a large number of crew lists. So if your ancestor had to work his/her way across the Pond, there’s a good chance a record of that employment is available in Ancestry LE.

Crew lists are available for vessels departing from/arriving at these countries:

Australia
Canada
England
Germany
Netherlands
Scotland
United States

Time periods covered vary from 1633-1969; most extensive coverage is available for 1860-1960.

Information provided by these lists also varies, but may include:

Age or Birth date
Birthplace
Last residence
Departure place
Departure date
Arrival place
Arrival date
Ship or aircraft name
