Cloud Atlas

Cloud atlas by David Mitchell is one of the most unique novels I have ever read. What starts off as a very dull beginning, leads to a book full of surprises, twists, and turns. Mitchell writes this novel in a very unusual way. It's split up into 6 parts, each being interrupted by another then coming back in the second half, which at first comes off as very odd since each part is a separate story. You will probably ask yourself, "Why does this story even matter to the other ones?" but once you come to finish the second half of each, all your questions will be answered. The novel may come off as sort of a philosophical book, which it is in a sense, but it's filled with politics and eye opening details. Whether you like a good romance, thriller, comedy, or science fiction story, Cloud Atlas has a perfect blend of all these different genres that is sure to intrigue you. Cloud Atlas is a must read for any high school or college student who's looking for a change in the type of books they read.
