A Truly Awful Year for London

For years historians and epidemiologists suspected that bubonic plague was the culprit behind the Great Plague of London (1665): the discovery of more than 3,300 skeletons of that era in the Bedlam Burial Ground near London’s Liverpool Street Station has confirmed that suspicion.
