PageTurners 2008
St. Louis Public Library’s reading club for adults and high school readers, Pageturners, kicks off on May 5, 2008. This year’s theme is “Transform Your Life…Read” and you can choose a romantic comedy to transform a bad mood, choose a thriller to transform a dull day, choose a travel guide to transform your next vacation, or choose a “green” book to transform how your household recycles. These are just some of the many, many types of books offered by the St. Louis Public Library that can lead to one kind of transformation or another.
To become a Pageturners member, readers can sign up at any Library location and will receive a reading log to record the books, magazines, or audio books that they complete. Each person who signs up and completes the program by reading or listening to 10 books will receive a special reading certificate and an umbrella with the Pageturners graphic. Those who complete the club also have a chance to win two tickets to a Cardinals baseball game and are also automatically entered into the Grand Prize drawing for a laptop computer and printer! Participants must be high school age or older and current St. Louis Public Library cardholders. No prizes will be awarded after August 9.
