Borrowing materials
Your Know Better library card may be the most useful card in your wallet. With it, you can borrow from St. Louis Public Library's vast collection of books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, videos, audio tapes and other materials.
The Library organizes materials into two collections -- Adult and Youth.
- Cards issued to adults provide access to both collections.
- Cards issued to minors (age 17 and under) provide access to materials in the Youth collection, and at the discretion of the parent or guardian, access to materials in the Adult Collection.
All circulating library materials, except videos and DVDs, are loaned for a 3-week period. Videos and DVDs are loaned for a 1-week period.
Materials are overdue if not returned or renewed by the date due. Items returned in the bookdrop must be returned before the library opens the next day to be considered on time.
