Library Honors Dr. King With Songs of Protest, Songs of Power

THE ST. LOUIS PUBLIC LIBRARY’S DIVERSITY COMMITTEE HONORS DR. KING WITH SONGS OF PROTEST, SONGS OF POWER

 

WHAT:  Musical Presentation: Songs of Protest, Songs of Power.

 

The legacy of Dr. King is celebrated through music. The performance includes inspirational songs beginning in the era of slavery through to the socially conscious 1970s. The program will highlight music that inspires change and hope for a better tomorrow.

 

The event is FREE and open to the public.

WHO:  Gifted Production and Psalms.

 

Psalms members include Teddi Edwards, Monya Fisher, Nita Lewis, and Marcia Williams. They are part of a high energy, soul-stirring, contemporary gospel group. Members of the group have been participants in various local singing groups. Individuals have performed backup for Patti LaBelle and Rod Stewart, appeared on the Queen Latifa Show, and won the Ameristar Superstar vocal competition.
