Baseball's one and only Iron Man, Cal Ripken, Jr., is coming to Central Library. He will be giving remarks and signing copies of his new book,
Get in the Game: 8 Elements of Perseverence That Make the Difference.
Ripken holds the Major League record for consecutive games played, having appeared in 2,632 straight games for the Balitmore Orioles. He was the American League's Rookie of the Year in 1982, and it's Most Valuable Player in 1983 and 1991. He also won two Gold Gloves and eight Silver Slugger awards during his 20-year career. Ripken was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.
