The series will take place at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of the month from February through July at Central Library, 1301 Olive Street, and will feature some of the most diverse and popular musical acts in the entire St. Louis region. NOT SO QUIET! kicks off on February 4 with St. Louis-based reggae legends The Murder City Players, who have been built a solid reputation as one of America’s premier reggae bands over the past 20 years. They’ve laid down reggae riddims with some of the very best Jamaican bands.
On March 3, there’s Zydeco Crawdaddys, a band whose infectious music will get you up and moving. Zydeco is a toe-tapping accordion-based musical style hailing from the prairies of south-central and southwest Louisiana that is synonymous with Mardi Gras.
April 7 offers in-your-face, hard-driving blues by The Phat noiZ Blues Band, fronted by Alvin Jett. Cutting his blues teeth with Tommy Bankhead and the Blues Eldorados, Jett has honed his skills into his own unique style of St. Louis blues.
