Author Elmore Leonard @ Central

St. Louis, MO . . . The St. Louis Public Library is proud to present an evening with best-selling author Elmore Leonard. The event takes place in Central Library’s Events Pavilion, 1301 Olive Street on Wednesday, May 16 at 7 p.m. Left Bank Books will be on-hand with copies of Leonard’s newest novel, Up in Honey’s Room for purchase and signing. The program is FREE and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

In his fortieth novel, Up in Honey’s Room, Leonard brings back Carl Webster, the handsome U.S. marshal and Oklahoma cowboy first introduced to readers in The Hot Kid, and later in the New York Times serialized novella, Comfort to the Enemy.

Set in WWII-era Detroit, Leonard’s characters and dialogue harken back to the days of highballs, Hudson’s Department Store, and German spies. It is one of the author’s most entertaining books. He has created a much more interesting world than one we live in, and it’s one readers will wish they’ll never have to leave.

Elmore Leonard’s highly successful career includes the bestsellers Mr. Paradise, Tishomingo Blues, Be Cool, Get Shorty, and The Hot Kid. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed collection of short stories, When the Women Come Out to Dance. Many of his books have been made into movies, including Get Shorty, Out of Sight, and Be Cool. He is the recipient of the Grand Master Award of the Mystery Writers of America. He lives with his wife, Christine, in Bloomfield, Michigan.
