Buder Celebrates National Library Week
St. Louis, MO . . . The St. Louis Public Library is proud to present a host of events celebrating National Library Week, April 16-20. The programs take place at the Buder Branch, 4401 Hampton Avenue. All programs are FREE and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
* April 16, 6-8:30 p.m. – Tax Assistance @ Your Library. Library volunteers will be on hand to assist you in choosing the correct form for filing your 2007 federal and state income taxes.
* April 17, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. – Traveling Tuesdays: Be a Tourist in Your Hometown. Join our monthly travelogue group for a special trip around our hometown. Participants will be treated to a four-hour guided Gray Line tour of St. Louis. This FREE special program is geared toward seniors and is limited to the first 25 people who register. * April 18, 1:30-3:30 p.m. – Senior Film Series. Seniors will enjoy joining us for our regularly scheduled Wednesday afternoon classic movie. In honor of the new baseball season, the theme for April is “Take Me Out to the Ballgame—Hollywood Style.”
* April 19, 7-8:30 p.m. – Radical Unionism in the Midwest. Join author Rosemary Feurer as she discusses her new book. Feurer will explain the roles of community-based organizing and radicalism mattered in the workers’ movement of the 1930s and ‘40s.
* April 20, All Day. – Bookmark Day. Everyone who checks out materials from Buder will receive a free bookmark.
