Become a Friend

Friends of the St. Louis Public Library
provide annual support for the St. Louis Public Library, a living cultural institution that enriches all of our lives by strengthening and connecting our St. Louis community.

This funding currently supports the Library’s literacy and after-school programs which serve close to 30,000 children and teens each year throughout the City of St. Louis.

In a community where 41.7% of children under the age of 18 were living in poverty in 2014 (http://mokidscount.org/), the St. Louis Public Library is a crucial resource. And at a time when many city schools have reduced their Library services or have removed them altogether… St. Louis families don’t just use their public Library, they depend on it.

Support Library programs and initiatives by becoming a Friend today!

Your Friends gift ensures that St. Louisans have free access to literacy and after-school programs including:
• Homework Helpers (ages 5-18)
• Summer Reading Club (ages 4-17)
• Read it Forward (ages 12-18)
• Reading Pays (ages 7-12)
• Veterans Writing Workshops (adults)
